GMP Performance's THAWOUT 2013 Open House and Track Event Recap!
The 2013 THAWOUT Track Event and Open House was a massive success.
Friday afternoon was our open house. Armed with dozens and dozens of Krispy Kreme donuts, cool display cars and tons of swag to give away, we invited everyone to see an up close and personal look at the inner working of a performance shop. A representative from Racetech Racing Seats was here with an array of seats. He explained the science that goes into each race seat and discussed how important it is to have the best personal fitment for you. Displays were all around, includingg a Brembo big brake kit, a Tubi Audi TT-RS exhaust, BF Goodrich tires, lots of wheels, and many more. We raffled off some great items from Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, Champion Motorsports, Forge, BMC Filters, H&R Springs. and a handful of things from us here at GMP. We had an awesome turn out and we're really looking forward to making it even bigger and even better in future!
From there, we headed down to Carolina Motorsports Park for a day of racing fun in the sun! Our team was on hand to help keep everything on schedule, assist with car preparations, answer any questions our participants had, and help in any way we could. The hustle and bustle of prep is always hectic (and slightly crazy) but once that was finished, it was racing time and it was a blast! Although the forecasts kept threatening rain, the skies stayed crisp and clear all day. We were excited to have our biggest turn out to date and the event went off without a hitch! But what is the most surefire way to tell the event was a success? We all had as much fun off the track, hanging out with everyone, as we did on it.
Up bright and early to get at that track!

We were also super happy to welcome non-Euro cars in this Dodge Challenger, Chevy Corvette and Toyota FRS.
There was not enough MB love at Thawout! Come on, guys! Next one we have, we definitely have got to get some Mercedes to join us. Get on out there and show those Audis and Beemers what you guys can do!
