Just go into the dealer and ask them for it. They have the lounge passes, free tickets, and the discount ($2 off) coupon (only useful on weekdays though). My dealer ran out of the free tickets, but they had numerous lounge passes. If you don't want to make the trip, I'm sure the key flash will also get you in the lounge.

Hey everyone, I went to the auto show yeaturday. Showed MB my key and got into the vip lounge. They just had drinks, but I got to rest a little at their lounge, thats about it. Mercedes' highlights were the SL65, CLS55 and SLR Mclaren. Brabus had the CL, CLS, SLK and others. Lamborghini had the Murchielago roadster. Saleen had the new S281, and S7. New Lexus GS was there. Bentley had a new Drophead convertible. Make sure you check out the Kentia hall. Thats the one with all the action and the hoochie mamas.

the key will get you in no worries. Same for the bmw lounge.
i went yesterday. went behind the ropes of brabus. Simply flash your key and say you want an upclose look at the car. no problems again. the brabus slk and cls were beautiful

Arrow Went to the Show Today

Parking - There is valet at the South Hall w/in 10 ft of the entrance right by where you get your tickets - very cool. Cost - $25. Small area, quiet w/ the valets right there, safe and secure, plus you get to see all the cool cars people bring in one place.

Don't bring a jacket. It was hotter than haites in there. Just one more thing to lug.

Speaking of which, the most swag is down in the (basement) Kentia Hall where all the Performance Products, Limited Production Vehicles and Motoring Accessories are located. And this is where my favorite part was. The DUB (The Original Automotive Lifestyle Magazine) area. They have all these cars there that are celebrity owned and TE-RICKED out. Here is the most beautiful SLR I have ever seen. I don't know what extras it had, but I was actually moved looking at it - I had to turn away when tears starting coming to my eyes. I'm not kidding.

If you valet like I did, guess what, you won't have your key to get into the MB lounge. I was frantically looking for my ins card to prove I owned an MB when the girl just said okay and had me fill out that guest card thing. Drinks, fruit, with a hot upstairs that was screened in so you couldn't see out. However, great place to get away from the crowds and just enjoy some nice ice water

Back out to the MB floor and the info booth. I got the last (according to the info person) dedicated 2005 MB SLK-Class 360 degrees of exhilaration book. My salesperson didn't even have this and considering I ended up buying my SLK 55 used, I never got that MSRP window/info sheet that comes with the car. (I am still researching what the heck my car has on it.) Along with every detail on the 05 SLK, every option with complete explanation, the book has all the color chips and leather squares right next to each other. Having the dealer explain what he thinks the difference is btwn Black and Obsidian Black isn't the same as seeing them side by side in this book. And if I had known of the Blk/Ash combo for the seats, seeing them right next to the Iridium Silver, as opposed to the Diamond Silver (very blue looking), that would have been what I would have ordered (even though I ended up not getting the car I ordered anyway).

Next, onto the Brabus area where I had some specific questions for the salesman there, but I had to hurry as I had to get back to OC before traffic. I wasn't planning on hanging out, just getting the info, chking out the last hall and getting out of there. So, while talking w/him over the rope real quick, this wingnut guy interrupts and whines, "can I come in past the ropes, whine, whine, whine ..." The salesguy gave him the best look, then paused and told him basically maybe, but he had to wait til he could have an escort! In the meantime, he was directed to the MB area where he could better interact with the vehicles - ha, ha, ha. Lu-Zer! After whiner backs off, the salesman opens the rope and invites me in so we could find out how much the brabus suspension would run for the SLK 55. (I found him to be especially friendly and helpful ) Getting "past the ropes" was no big deal, but it turned out being very informative. Its not that much for the suspension kit, which only cost from around $1,500 - $2,000. At least not compared to a $37,000 engine.

Oh, finally, don't eat the hot dogs down in Kentia Hall. Mine tasted old and gamey and when I took a good look at it, I noticed it was kind of a tannish color with a green tinge. Maybe this is how this particular dog is supposed to taste and look ...
