He is a hard man to reach. Took me 2 or 3 weeks of calling 7 times a day every day before I finally got a hold of him.

Worked out well, bought two extended warranties from him. about 40% savings from local dealers.

MB extended warranties are now unlimited mileage, the '12 E350 I bought last week has unlimited mileage on the factory warranty, the extended warranty, and the included maintenance plan. I'm thinking this is a limited time offer....our MB sales manager had never seen this program before.

geesh, I wish I had waited to grab the warranty. oh well c'est la vie.

The extended warranty was easily worth the money on our S430 as there were a bunch of things that got fixed between 50 and 100K.

Have some faith on MBZ. It won't go bad for any reason for a long time to come, not within 100,000 miles if take good care. Look at all those taxy cabs in europe. There is reason why use MBZ as taxy.

From what I see, the Factory wrty ends at 50k, then the CPO is unlimited but is less comprehensive than the factory. and up to a 2 year extension can be bought.

The maintenance is 2 yrs, but NOT unlimited, it is basically your next 2 services which means 20k miles. Did you get the 3 extra years and how much was that?

Yes, I phrased this incorrectly, factory warranty expires at 48mos/50kmi from service date. then the cpo is one year unlim mileage, and the extended I bought is another year w/ unlim mileage.

My maintenance agreement under mileage says "unlim". I'm quite convinced that the length of term was a typo, but nonetheless it is there in print through Jan 2017.
at 15kmi per year this will cover A(2) B and C maint.

You got super lucky if that works out unlim miles on maintenance! I got a diesel and those are excluded from the free service I got official documentation since this was different depending on who I asked. Most dealers do not know its excluded. This is the official offer that also clearly says "2 service" vs unlimited service in 2 years. But again... Awesome if the mistake works in your favor. congrats!

Hey guys, I'm new here. But what is the consensus on the cost of a 7 year/100k warranty? And does anyone have a copy of what it covers? Is it genuine MB USA or is it Fidelity?

The one from Dan Boone is a genuine Mercedes ELW (Extended Limited Warranty). I think the 7/100k will run you less than $3k as long as you're within the first 30 days of ownership. There is a surcharge if you're still under warranty but out of the 30 day window.

It has exclusions such as battery, tire, maintenance items etc. I have attached a copy of the contract.

Go to the MBUSA website or call MBUSA Customer Care for the details. If you purchase from an MB dealer, it should be an MBUSA warranty.
Note: standard price includes a 15% surcharge for the dealership selling the warranty. However, most will waive it if you ask them to.
Don't know the costs, but MB spent a lot of money on my 2010 E350 fixing things-most electronic. Some required considerable dealer service time. That's why I got a three year extended warranty.

W212 E350 4 Matic 2011
Tons of opinions on that
I did not buy it for my wife's c300 4 magic. 3 weeks after original warranty finished:
1- oil staining on cam covers, needed to change valve solenoid covers and wires
2- leakage or shaft between mid dif and gearbox
total cost 1500, after lots of kicking and screaming I got them to cover it. My argument was, this is not cinderella and it did not happen overnight

at 42k, car was draining battery flat. Light switch, front fuse box and ECU total bill 4500, got it down to 2.5k
So now, if I buy an MB, I will buy the warranty=price of peace of mind
But the big question and what we should get on this forum, is what quotes are you guys getting
We need to know the lowest quote so we can use it in our negotiations with our Dealers.
Granted they need to make money, but they do make money every time we bring the car in for warranty service anyway.
Please post your quotes

2014 E350 Wagon
Dan Boone - MB Austin
7yr/125K miles - $3,550 (no tax)
7yr/100k miles would have been $2,780 (no tax)
7yr/75k was $1,990.

I told my local dealer (Park Place, Dallas) the prices before I got my car and they were unwilling to match it even though I told them if they don't match I'll just call Mr. Boone, makes no difference to me. So I'm guessing these prices are as competitive as they will ever get, my dealer rather gave up whatever profit there was than to give me the discount and roll it all into my deal. I think it was a lose lose but sometimes that is how prisoner's dilemma and game theory works in the real world. I got the 7/125k from Mr. Boone 6 days after I bought my car and it took all of 5 minutes on the phone. He was truly fantastic!

Great pricing and will be giving Mr. Boone a call next week for my 2011 E550. I've had the front rotors replaced , dynamic seat air bladders replaced, command updated 3x, burl wood trim replaced and documented the air mattic sagging in the rear. Think I'll be buying the EW for piece of mind over the next 3-4 years. I love the car and plan to keep it for a while even with the "warts" of MB quality. What is the additional charge if the car is > 30 days old and how much is it?

No Paperwork - make sure it's in MBUSA system

There is no paperwork to "prove" the warranty. The selling dealership can provide you with a printed copy of the application though. However, this is just an application to MBUSA for the coverage, not proof of coverage.
I was told by dealership and confirmed with MBUSA that my coverage information is in MBUSA computer system, which all dealers can access.
Happy Motorin!

E350
Hi Guys,

I just bought the 2011 CPO (E350) last month and thinking about the extended warranty. Default 4 Year warranty will expire on 10/15/2015 and because of CPO additional year, the extended warranty will expire on 10/15/2016.

I am thinking of buying additional 2 years (total 7 Years and 75 or 100K) warranty. But I am not sure that is this extended warranty is the same as the factory default warranty (original 4 years one) or the CPO warranty. Because reading other threads I found that CPO warranty don't cover some of the things which are covered in original 4 years factory warranty. In that case is it worth to spend additional 2-3K for limited extended warranty.

Any help to differentiate in between default factory warranty and extended warranty will help me to make up my decision. My current mileage is 35K and I am planning to keep this car for next 5-7 years and estimating around 6-8K per year.

If in US, call MBUSA Customer Care and they will connect you with someone who can answer your questions. Mine pretty much covers everything original warranty did except for wear and tear.

Has anyone here bought the ELW who is not the original owner but is still within the 4/50k?

I just picked up a 2011 e350 with plenty of warranty left from a non mercedes dealer. Brought the car to get some service done and tried to add ELW onto the car but they said that is only for the original purchaser of the car or if you bought it CPO. On MBUSA website it says nothing about those requirements.

This seems to be the case, I asked the same question of my local dealer. I called MBUSA and they told me the same. I ended up buying a CPO to get an MB ELW.
This was puzzling to me as I recall when I purchased my used ML from an independent dealer in '10, I received solicitation from MB offering me an ELW. just about every manufacturer sends you a friendly reminder when your new/used car is about to come off warranty....not MB?

I would imagine MB and other makes frequently revise these plans, just as they revise Roadside Assistance.
A CPO car and a new car come with MB backed warranties, so they are more confident in providing extended warranties on these vehicles. Also, CPO's supposedly have been throughly inspected and brought up to MB standards. That's probably why they do not cover others.
Also, I get a lot of offers for extended warranties which have MB written all over them, but they are not from MBUSA or MB at all.
