Re: USAA Warrranty

I recently purchased a 2006 S65 with only 10,400 miles. Checked on a USAA extended warranty and it is only about $3,800 for three years, but I doubt that I will drive the car more than 3,000 miles/year. Had a MB extended warranty for my SL55 which came in handy when a tappet became noisy and the dealer actually replaced all the roller rockers on both banks which seemed excessive but profitable for them. Doubt USAA would be so generous but I have been with USAA for forty years and never have had a complaint. Have the option for one, two or four years as well but in the forth year the policy cost does increases.

Any recomendations.

Go for it. I got the USAA Extended Warranty (4 yr) for my 2006 CLK55 AMG. A bit expensive at the time, and I went back and forth before I pulled the trigger and got it.

Glad I did. Paid for a rear main seal replacement ($2000), and several other smaller items - with no hassle whatsoever. It has literally paid for itself.

This is the policy they offer through Assurant Solutions?

I haven't had to use mine yet, but was hoping it would be fairly painless if I needed it.

I've been with USAA for about 25 years and have never been disappointed with their products or service before, so I wouldn't think it would be much different.

Appreciate all input. I decided on three years as the four boosted the premium by 60% - three years was only $3800 which according to my local MB dealer is a bargain. Service manager told me most companies won't touch an older S65 at any price so this does seem like a good offer. In fact it doesn't seem like they distinguish between any of the S class models.

I believe you have to have some family military connection, but today maybe a distant relative would qualify. I was a line officer USN after college before going back to dental school.
