For those of you who got an Extended Warranty..how much? (C63 W204)

2004 E55 AMG
This was for my E55 but I bought it through Carmax (both the car and the warranty) and paid $2K for it for 5 years of 100K miles. I had a $75 deductible and it covered over $20K in repairs all through the dealer. Worth every penny and when I get a C63, I'll get another one, this time for 125K miles.
CarMax has the best warranties in the business in my judgement.

id be interested in this info as well, since i'm waiting on a 2010 to be ready for sale that i might get and its near the end of the warranty.

Paid $3,500 for 3 year/100k extended factory warranty. Covers everything the factory warranty does and so far has paid off 
If you plan on keeping the car for a long time (like me who plans on keeping it forever), its definitely worth getting it.

rentzington - I got it 4 months back. I did some negotiating on it though as they wanted closer to 4500 for it.
My car will be hitting the 4 year mark on Sept 19 so i wanted to be safe and get it a couple months before hand as prices go up for the extended warranty as the expiration date gets closer.

2012 AMG C63 edition 1 sedan, Toytota Tacoma, Ford F250 Diesel, Honda CBR600RR, Suzuki GSXR 600
My 2012 had the balance of the factory warranty (14 months) and a few miles left on it. Because it was certfied I got an extra year of factory MB warranty, taking me to 26 months. I bought another 2 years with unlimited miles so in effect I now have a 50 month warranty with unlimited miles. It cost me a little less than 2K for the extra 2 years.

Carmax is a great place to get a good deal on an AMG in good shape and a great warranty. My car needed lots of expensive repairs and the dealer was able to get them all approved no problem.

I bought my CPO E63S (about 8 months old) and purchased at the same time a 2 year extension of the full CPO Plan for $4,650. That $4,650 is paying today to insure the car in the years 2019 and 2020. That''s a hairy risk to right in a low interest rate environment.
Also, recall that the new CPO plan is unlimited miles (including the extensions). So I have a zero deductible warranty through the end of 2020 no matter how much I drive.
On my last E55 I had the original purchaser buy the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty extension immediately before I acquired the car from him. When I sold the car 3 years later I was able to have a mini-auction for that car since it still had over 2 years and/or about 60,000 miles of factory warranty.
Just buy the factory one and move on. Especially if an AMG.
