Is ELW refundable if car is totaled before end of original warranty?

Is ELW refundable if car is totaled before end of original warranty?
My car still has 2 months on its original MB warranty and I plan to buy an ELW very soon. I assume the ELW kicks in when the original MB warranty expires and does not take precedence the day I buy the ELW.
If I buy an official MB ELW and the car gets totaled while still under the original factory warranty can I get my money back on the ELW?

I didn’t need to worry about this one as my wife loved the car they had on the floor. We’re new to the brand, but we knew what we wanted and stuff we didn’t, so it was pretty easy.
