3rd Party VSC for end of Max-CPO '14 GL350
I am looking for a quality VSC / Extended warranty for my 2014 GL350, right at 61,000 miles with a soon-to-expire 3 yr (max extended CPO) Has anyone purchased a quality 3rd party VSC recently at decent price? I got a quote from a person who is often referred by many here for CPO extensions, but I am not eligible as I already had the max CPO.
Before I got the quotes, he told me the prices would be on the high side, as it's a 7 year old vehicle, and unfortunately, the fact it has NEVER been out of warranty and/or CPO, and always serviced at MBZ, wasn't taken into account with respect to the quote, only the make, model, age, mileage were used as parameters. So, I prepared for the worst, but these quotes are so astronomically absurd IHMO, nobody in their right mind would/should pay these prices, not even if it was an AMG. I have purchased many long term VSC's for Mercedes, BMW's some even out of warranty, and the cost's were never anywhere close and/or equal to the trade-in value.

I thought the same thing! Sadly no typo! I finally did get one from the BMW dealer I have purchased several BMW's from. Not a bargain, but I got an exclusionary from GWC. It's the best/most coverage, they offer for a used vehicle. It's Gold w/ additional Luxury package option, $100 deductible, for $7200 w/tax for 4/48K. Probably because I am a repeat customer, but the best part was there wasn't a "required" by the warranty company, MANDATORY $400 inspection, and I didn't have to drive hundreds of miles either like "the other guy" said was a MUST! GWC does also have a crazy expensive version of this Gold VSC $18K but at least its 6/100K.
