Lifetime oil changes, limited to the same dealership?

We purchased the lifetime oil change service for our vehicle when we bought it. We moved (in town still) and there is another Mercedes dealership (different owner) just down the street. Is the lifetime oil service limited to just the original dealer?

Probably and I guess every time you would go there, they'd be running all kinds of diagnostics and inspections as to what your car needs etc. One such recommended repair would easily take care of your life time oil changes

That is a dealer thing...my guess.

Read the fine print on docs....

HOw much was it? Sounds like it could be a good deal.

$600. We weren't very negotiation savvy with that purchase and probably could have gotten it thrown in. When the dealer pulled our credit scores needlessly, I wrote an unhappy review and that was the first thing they offered to make it right. Except we had already purchased it. Oh well.

We only kept that first GLC for 2 years and then traded up, but we negotiated transferring that to the new car. So we'll make it worthwhile.

We haven't been using the benefit as much as we could. Even though Mercedes recommends every 10K miles, getting an oil change every 5K, especially if free, should be something we utilize.

If Mercedes recommends every 10K, don't think dealer is going to change it every 5K unless you are willing to pay for it. It should be in your fine print though

Haha, actually it really is lifetime free oil changes. As long as it's not abused (like monthly or something), they don't care.

Why don't you call them tomorrow and report back to us. Ask them with this plan, how often ( mileage or the time) can I get the oil changes done? Of course they care, tying up a mechanic for 30-45 minutes + the parts is not cheap.

Would wait for your answer hopefully you can call the service department in the morning.

Remember nothing is free and $600 for life time oil changes is pretty much free.... Question you gotta ask yourself is, What's in it for the dealer or else why would they offer such plan?
