Nationally Recognized Labor Time Publications - Compared Against OEM Guide
After reaching out to every Mercedes dealer in NJ, NY, and CT for warranty offerings for my GTR, I was offered seven. After reviewing each service contract, I have narrowed down to three. In order to fully assess those three, it would be great if someone sends me the Mercedes OEM guide for repairs and/or any of the below. I would like to compare the OEM guide against the others, as I look for ways to further narrow down the three warranties that are still in the running.
Mitchell 1: Provides industry-standard labor times for the automotive aftermarket, using time studies and collective industry experience to create estimates.MOTOR: Offers widely trusted "Estimated Work Times" for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, updated frequently to reflect OEM changes.ALLDATA: Delivers OEM-based labor times integrated with repair information and diagrams.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Guides: Considered the most accurate, directly from vehicle manufacturers.

I want to use my preferred MB dealer, but I dont know if any dealers have a policy against using third party warranties (given the strict burdens and requirements that dealer shops have to work with). Obviously an MB dealer that sells the policy would never tell that customer "we don't want to work with the pain in the butt warranty that we sold you," but what about the unrelated MB dealer service department that is presented with the warranty (that they view as a random policy)?
Maybe I am overthinking. I am about to make a big investment in a warranty and I want to make sure no surprises.
