JBSPEED/AMG & Brabus Style Pedals AT/MT
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The pedals are of pretty good quality and finished nicely. No complaints there. They look nice installed and function just fine. All in all, I'm happy with them.
A few notes:
1. The metric cap head bolts that come with the kit are fine, but the kit really should come with button heads. The cap heads installed are slight above the level of the aluminum pedal. I replaced them all with button heads and they fully drop into the counter sunk holes for the pedals. This just looks cleaner and better finished.
2. Measure twice, drill once. For example, on the accelerator pedal, the way that the pedal holes are drilled, there is a very small lip on either side of the factory pedal to drill through. So, you really do have to take your time to get your mounting holrd just right. Not a hard install by any means, but bring your patience. I made my own drilling templates out of paper, but it would be nice if they were included.
Bottom-line: you never look at your pedals until you install these. Then you'll realize how much of a nice "add" this mod really is.
1. unbolt the pedal assembly to slide the rubber off. The pedal is affixed to the floor and linkage and since the rubber part has a loop at the bottom, you just can't slide it right off.
2. Or, take the lazy route and just cut the rubber loop and it comes right off the gas pedal.
Yes, you have to drill. The brake pedal was the easiest. The rest of the pedals, not so much. It' because behind the face of the bare pedals is the arm assemblies and there is little room on either side to drill through without either being too close to the edge of the pedal or drilling into the pedal arm assembly.
Also, the cap head screws that came with the kit? Ditch em. Go get yourself some metric button head bolts. They drop down into the countersunk holes in the pedals and look much cleaner.
It's not a hard job as much as it is tedious.
