A young man in my neighborhood who operates his own landscaping business was given this hardtop in partial payment for landscaping services. He'd like to find a new "home" for it where it will be put back into service. Here's a description:

Hardtop for a 1979 M-B 450SL. I'm told it will fit "any 107 chassis SL between 1972 and 1986". Condition is very good overall. Paint (gold/beige color) is good, but with some scratches. Glass is very good, but not concours quality. Rubber is good, but could stand replacement. Headliner is stunningly good - excellent, in fact. Please see pics.

It is currently in central VA, just north of Richmond. We can deliver to within an hour or so away (Charlottesville, Emporia, Williamsburg, Manassas, or Warrenton areas). Asking $600.

I appreciate all the views - but are these hardtops really that common? Would love any tips/advice for how to help my landscaping friend find this hardtop a new home and put a few sheckles into his pocket.
