Hello Everyone,

So I have the dreaded M264 engine at 89k miles... It was misfiring cylinder 2/3 thought it was the bad valve seats took it to dealer they charged me $350 to diagnose and they said it was an injector on Cylinder 2. I argued with advisor for awhile and then decided to have the car towed back home. I was able to replace the injector myself and got the car back on the road for about a week... then misfire cylinder 3 occurred I thought to myself I should have just replaced all 4 injectors not one but at $180 each didn't want to spend more money but seems like I had to. Went ahead and replaced the remaining 3 old injectors and new spark plugs... Started the car back up and everything looked good at idling I was monitoring the cylinder via Xentry looking for faults and about 10 minutes in Cylinder 2 starts giving me faults a slight vibration fault code thrown and engine goes back to idling normal... No check engine light on at this point.

Now when I removed the injectors they had quite a bit of carbon build up, now I'm thinking either the valve seats are bad or I have a lot of carbon build up on the intake valves that's giving me this shaking every now and then.

Any thoughts? I've read GDI engines have carbon build up issues that could cause some rough idling.

My 2021 GLC300 4matic engine failed at 67k miles. Always maintained and taken care of, conservatively driven. Took it to dealer and they said somehow the bearing shifted and metal shavings got in it causing it to have a catastrophic engine failure. They even stated its not my fault but they dont know why the bearing shifted which is not normal. They said unfortunately this happens sometimes meaning this is a known problem? I am out of warranty and just reached 5 years. I know mechanical problems will occur but a complete engine failure in 5 years? They quoted 35k to replace the engine which is absurd. Anyone had similar experience? Can anyone guide me on how to go about? This just isn't right at 67k miles.

Just saw that Carlinkit released the new Tbox Ultra 3, and this one comes with a built-in LCD screen — a first for the Ultra series.

Compared to the previous CarPlay AI box, it looks like a pretty significant upgrade on carlinkitcarplay.com. The LCD is what's really catching my attention, though I'm not 100% sure how useful it actually is in daily driving.

Has anyone here already picked one up? Curious to hear.

Hi all
Just bought 2021 GLC300, right hand drive as I live in Australia.
When I press the black scroll button and try and change the display between classic, sport etc I can't get the screen to accept my choice and revert to displaying large digital speed read out in the centre. Only way I've figured out is factory reset.
I would have thought the home/back button would work to return me to normal display but it doesn't.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Following up on a post from about a month ago. The dealer has completed the diagnosis and repair, but the final bill and findings weren't what I expected.

Rather than burying the update in the original thread, I thought I'd start a new one and link back for context.

I'm curious whether others have seen similar repairs and whether these charges seem reasonable.

Here's the original post:
The 2020 GLC300 was repaired by the dealer, and according to the invoice, the root cause was addressed under what appears to be a Mercedes service bulletin/campaign.
I just got the ILS+ coded to the car, and I have some of the features working, but I can't get the adaptive high beam assist to work. Instead of cutting out the cars, it just goes to low beam. I'm not sure if it is a problem with the coding or if there is something else wrong with the car. I did scan the car with Xentry before I had the coding done, and there were no error codes stored in the car.

Any Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
What problems would you look out for to negotiate the price down?
Im looking to buy one and import to Kenya for small daily commutes (2-3 years max)

Hi All,

The car worked perfectly for two years (bought it in June 2024), but today afternoon, when I started the car, no HUD display. I went to the HUD menu through the buttons on the steering wheel, I could see the switch on and off (which is ON), height adjustment, brightness adjustment, everything is as normal, but I just can't see the HUD. I didn't get the error message "Heads Up Inoperative" like others reported.

I tried restarting the car multiple times, I soft reseted the MBUX, switched off the car and waited for an hour and checked again, no luck. Opened the fuse box on the passenger side, pressed the fuses slightly to see if anything is loose. One was loose, corrected it but still no HUD. Toggled the HUD off and on, but no change.

What could be the issue? I will call the dealer tomorrow and see what happens. Do let me know if there are any troubleshooting hacks :) Thank you, appreciate the support!

Hi Everyone, after a recent situation where I ended up without phone access while driving, I’m considering adding a more reliable in-car navigation backup for my Mercedes. Would you recommend getting the official Mercedes navigation package, or going with a Garmin-based solution instead? If Garmin, are there any modules/setups that integrate well with the Mercedes display/system?
Would appreciate any suggestions or experiences. Thanks!
