Thumbs down Charge Port Location

Why did MB decide to put the charging port in the rear passenger side? It's arguably the worst location as the driver has to walk all the way around the car to plug-in. Was this a remnant of the ICE version?

Agreed. My Taycan had it in front on both sides - super convenient. I now have to park my G580 backwards in my garage to charge it.

In terms of why they put it there - their new strategy is to make EVs as close to non-EVs as possible - so the charge port is in the same place as the gas tank cap would have been.

Yeah I think the Taycan nailed that aspect by having charge ports on both sides, wish more EVs did this. I like that MB is trying to keep the G580 design as close as possible to its ICE equivalent, but the charge port location is such a minor design element with a major convenience factor that I'm surprised they decided to keep it where it is.
