The G580 was touted to have the new battery technology and that didn’t happen.

While I love my G580, that range is brutal as a I drive a lot during the day

do you think MBUSA will have an upgrade program for the batteries?

Highly doubt that they will offer a "battery upgrade" after the sales. But probably no need to stress about it as it most likely won't be available until MY2027 (end of next year) at least. I'm just hoping they will included the native NACS charge port soon... May be MY2026?

I mean something to the tune of paying $20-$30k to upgrade the battery but yes you’re right…. The NACS adapter works fine but man it’s going to annoy these Tesla drivers seeing non-Tesla vehicles needing two marking spots due to cord length

Yeah, hopefully when they move to the NACS, they will move the charge port to the other side too! (doubt it tho.....)

So, if I understand correctly, it may be unlikely that Mercedes-Benz will offer to upgrade the battery on existing G580s, but they will go ahead and integrate the new silicon battery into MY2027 G580s even if it doesn't coincide with a refresh? I'm looking to get a G580 in 2027 anyways, but I wasn't sure if Mercedes-Benz will give the new silicon battery to the G580 without facelifting it. What do you all think?

I believe due to the way the N465 platform differs from the W465 means that a battery tech swap won’t be feasible.

Also, can the subforum code (G580) be changed to the correct chassis code of N465?
