Hi All, New here......giving thoughts to selling my new 911 for a G
Recently moved from Naples to Charlotte. I have a 2024 911, only 1600 miles and I dread driving it in Charlotte, the road surface conditions suck. Giving thought to getting another iconic vehicle...the G. Don't want the G63, Can't find a G550 inline 6, I see TONS of G580's on dealers lots everywhere and already quite a few used ones. Drove the 580, felt great but two big concerns. Poor range and they are clearly depreciating and discounting already.
My attraction to the G Class, like the 911, is low depreciation. Has anyone seen numbers on the one pay lease for 24 months? I don't do monthly payments, and I am hesitant to buy a 580 as I feel they will follow the path of the Taycan. The US for whatever reason will not embrace EV's. Possibly due to the **** poor charging network?
Thanks a ton!

BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...des-benz-g580/, ended at MSRP (no buyer fee)
C&B: https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3LY...-eq-technology, ended at $165,500 (+$7.5k buyer fee)
Not unusual for a car to drop 10% just driving it off the lot though - maybe unusual for a G, but even the $165.5k (+7.5k C&B fee = $173k + transportation cost), doesn't seem *terrible* to me. The Taycan depreciates a lot more.
I have decided to get a new G550 instead of the 580. The range of the 580 just is not where it should be, and the greater possibility of high depreciation is not something I'm willing to personally risk. Sure, the 550 will depreciate, but all indicators point to a more stable resale value in the 550 than the 580, and certainly the G63 is rock solid in resale.
