Hmmmm...I may have to check this out. I love toys, so a "nicer" interior and color choice may be worth the wait. DVD nav is a definite advantage to me, although aftermarkets are there, too.

IMO you do need to check out the GL.
I have several G's in various locations, and I may indeed be changing some of them out to new GL's -- I have to test drive the new GL as well.
I am planning on picking up a G450 or 550 and driving it for a month or two to decide; all the while awaiting the AMG version of the GL before I purchase a number of them... Of course it is going to be an even longer, more interminable wait for the GL63, or whatever the AMG version of the GL is going to be, to come out....
And for what it's worth, I am awaiting the details on the new G - what the changes to it are going to be - before I buy any more of them..... What if it gets the new lighting system from the new E? Integrated backup camera? Nightvision? Or any of the other technological innovations from the new S-Class? See what I mean? We don't know at this point what the new G will be, exactly -- but we should be finding out here sometime in the next couple/few months....

I seriously doubt there will ever be a G500 CDI. Mercedes isn't going to spend that kind of money on the old G. However I do expect the G to get the new 5.5L V8 for a G550 model and of course the new diesels in the European market. I don't see a G63 though, unless they used the turbo version upcoming for the C/SL/S "63" models. I look for the nav system to be updated and some interior refinements to get rid of the old C/CLK hardware from a generation ago. I'm just wondering that since there is 2006 G when will the 2007 appear. I thinking we may see something about it at the NY show or in May when the new CL is shown.

I found a Dark grey G500. Very nice, but I want to wait and see what '06/'07 brings. The interior is dated as ClayJ indicated. I would take it for me, but I think the wife would like a GL better. Just need to get one to show her for the asthetic approval and my inspection of second row room!!
