Sorry for the late notice, but if anyone is interested, I'm off to the Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area tomorrow morning for some light off-roading. If any other G-wagen owners, especially new G500 owners, are interested, please let me know. You can e-mail me at jimmy@mac.com or call me any time (I'll be up late tonight) at 650-716-1299.

I did end up going to Hollister Hills on Sunday with some friends (2002 Land Rover Discovery II, Jeep Grand Cherokee) and we had quite an eventful trip, including a roll-over!
One of my friends rolled his new Discovery trying to reverse down a very steep, sandy slope. No one was injured, and we managed to right his car, but the damage was significant.
Not only was there some body damage, but serious engine damage (three connecting rods broke because oil leaked into the cylinders). Luckily his insurance company (Allstate) is covering all of the repair costs, including the $8k for a new engine.
I think Rob was most embarrassed that everyone saw him being towed out by a Mercedes. Hehehe!

I feel bad for the Land Rover. The G should have been able to climb that, if you want to take a risk. Just make sure you keep her straight up the hill! I wouldn't but I'm sure others would try! Sounds like a fun day!
