I have a 2002 g500 and I want to remove my side marker lights and replace the old side view mirrors with the new ones with the blinker in the cover. Does any one have any sugguestions or advice?

Will the wiring harness require any mods?

 

From what I remember, I think the necessary electronics are present in the 2002 G-Class door module to also control the blinker in the mirror, but I'm not 100% sure. Only two sources I know of to buy the new mirrors is from your Mercedes dealer or Brabus who was the first to offer them for the G-Class.

So most likely i won't have to pull new wires through to the door. Also if i cancel the side marker, do you know what to terminate that light bulb, so that the idiot(check) light don't come on.

Reviving an old thread because I have a similar question. I’m looking for side mirrors for the ‘02 G500 WITHOUT the turn signal, but the diagrams on the MB parts website show them as having turn signals integrated, even for the ‘02 model year. Is there a different part number for the side mirrors without turn signals?

Previous owner installed aftermarket side mirrors with turn signals and the blinkers don’t function on them. So not sure if they wired it incorrectly or if there isn’t any wiring to control the turn signal from the mirrors.
