Engine noise 2002 G500
My four month old G has as noise which one dealer has told me is normal. When accelerating there is a tick-tick-tick- noise from the motor which sounds like lifters, tappets or perhaps from the serpentine belt. Hard accelerating intensifies the sound. After reaching cruise speed, it is still subtly present. Any thoughts?
Has anyone had to have the latch mechanisms on their doors replaced. I have two that squeak and the dealer has adjusted them twice. The squeak is produced by the latch where it overlaps the metal post from the frame. Rubber tape wrapped around the post silences the problem for about a week.

My 2000 G500 has no such clickity clack. Just a nice deep throated exhaust.
As to the door squeeks, lubricate them with white lithium grease or vaseline. Do both the latch and the V shaped wedges.

My 2002 G500 has no clicking noises while driving, but I did have the door squeaking problems and I did what DUTCH advises and it works great. I've had my G500 for about 8 months.
