Like my other SUV's I'd sure like to mount my flyrod rack on the G500. (BTW, a pair of flyrods is not going to impact the stability very much). I've thought of using a set of lever action suction cups attached to the racks. Anyone else have experience/ideas? BTW, someone out there must be using his G500 for skiing. Where do you stow the skis?

Gutter mounted high tower roof racks from Yakima or Thule work just fine.

i just got the trailer hitch. i am going to purchase the trailer hitch ski rack.

i don't want to struggle or scratch the g while loading the skis on the roof.

I think you'll have problems clearing the spare tire, extension or no extension.

i figured the extension would be all i needed.

Someone recently posted on another board that they could not use their bike rack, even with the extension. That spare is FAT!!

i found a custom made ski hitch.

they are custom making it for me to clear the spare. it will swing toward the passenger side to allow access.

it is a neat tube design. no fumbling.

it is aluminum. i'll post a pic as soon as possible.
