Unhappy CV Joints

Anyone know anything about CV joints? The differential lock engager thing in the center is shaking horribly. When we took it to the mechanic he said the CV joints need to be fixed. He "greased" it a while back and that was supposed to solve the problem. Now, I know a good amount about my 300E, but not this G320. Is this expensive? People have told me that these should "never" go bad?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

They are a routine maintenance item; and the real experts in the US suggest this be done every 45k. See the attached URL for a very interesting discussion about this very subject on a G320.

Hey, thanks a lot for the info! I think the mechanic has no idea what he is talking about... "it never goes bad"...

Take care!

Well, my mechnanic worked on the CV joints. The truck runs 10x better now and it feels like more power was added. Wheew! The G320 comes out of the shop and the 300E goes back in with a ruined axle. When will it stop!!!!!!????
