I just looked at the thread about MB, BMW, and Lex sales. It said zero by the G class. The MSRP is about 70k I think, does anyone know how much they are pricing them at the dealership though???? I need to get a new car and if I could get a good deal on a G class, OMG that would be so pimp.

well, G's have arrived this year "officially," although Europa in Santa Fe, NM has been selling them for years before this.

G's are around 70-75k now, they used to be 120-140k.
Pricing depends on the dealer you go to and whether or not they got buyers and how many G's they got.

Gs and Hummers, in my humble opinion, are the best two off road vehicles out there. I say they are the best two because some things Gs are better at and Hummer is better at other things....

Examples...
Gs climb 80% uphill grades
Gs can "ford" basically up to 20cm without any lifted air intake (probably more than that, thats what it says in my manual)
Gs were the first and only SUV with three differential locks, result is most powerful offroad vehicle - AKA it takes away power from wheels that are spinning and gives it to the wheels that have traction. It's a jock with brains.
Gs are now VERY nice inside. The G500s are much nicer than my old school G320. They include navigation and all that good stuff. Not to mention the new G500s are like $60,000 less than mine was when I bought it !!!

I saw a G on some stupid show on Showtime or HBO or something. They are trying to make them look like rich people have them as luxury vehicles - "the mercedes navigator". This really gives Gs a bad name. They are military vehicles with leather. Not symbols of wealth.

So, if you get a G, its not just "pimp", its MB engineering at its finest.

Hope you get one! Or, wait for a G55 AMG...

One thing though, the G55 AMG's are "AMG-Specials" so they are not available in North America .

By the way, the interior of my 300E is nicer than the G320. Originally it wasn't, but now that my scanner, CB, Cell phone, XM/CD/MP3 player, digital compass is installed in the ol' 300e, it's lookin pretty top notch.

Thats pretty cool. I love a car with a lot of gadgets in it. It feels so well equiped. I gotta buy a radar/laser detector soon for my car. It's too easy to speed (and I mean around 90-100mph). The ride is so soft it only feels like 65.
