Dealer knows nothing about Shipment of my G 500!

Dealer knows nothing about Shipment of my G 500!
I payed the 1,000 for the "RESERVE' price in november. The dealer says he has put my order in for a 02 G 500. Everytime I call him he never knows when will it be made in austria nor does he know when the shipping date is! He doesent even know what number slot i am in the order list.
Is this normal or what?

That sounds weird. You'd think a dealer would know how many people have ordered a particular car from them. Also, dealers have already been given a bunch of production slots on cars through 2002, so that's what they are selling to people who order them now. They should be able to at least tell you which month the car is expected to be manufactured.
As far as the delivery date goes, that's harder for them to predict. It usually takes 1-1.5 months for delivery after the production date, but that all depends on when the vehicle gets loaded on a ship and what the ship's ETA is into port. Even after my G500 was manufactured in late November, my dealer didn't have an ETA until nearly 3 weeks later when it was already on it's way. My delivery date to the vehicle prep center in LA is 1/6/2002 and it will be delivered to my dealer about a week later.
