2002 G500 Navigation Question
I just recently purchased a 2002 g500 and i was wondering if there was a way to upgrade the navigation to a new version? i had an 05 e320 and the nav screen was much nicer and i was lookin for something more along those lines...
Any ideas??

2004 G55 with license plate THNKTNK
I have an '04 G55 and wanted to do the same thing. The Command unit is a joke. My $200 Best Buy unit works much better.
I contacted mbdoctor.com and they said you're pretty much stuck. To upgrade to the DVD nav will cost you about $9k in Mercedes parts. Hardly worth the effort.
If someone has any other info on that I'd love to hear because I really don't like the '04 Command and like the integrated controls too much for aftermarket.

The new DVD COMAND system uses a totally different communications bus and would require significant rewiring. The short answer is it's not possible to upgrade.
