Question about accesories for G500
My wife drives a '99 RR (black w/choc interior) - I've been considering "upgrading" her to a 2000 G500 and would appreciate your comments comparing your two trucks... I've test-driven the G500 (and loved it) but would like your input comparing the two, as someone whose lived with both for an extended period. thanks in advance of the comments.
I have had my 96 Range Rover for over 5 years now. I have taken it off-road a few times, nothing too crazy.
Few Features I like about the Range Rover:
1. Electronic Air Suspension - which allows you to adjust height when stuck off road some where. As well as easy to load and unload stuff in trunk area...
2. Very capable Off-Roader. Easy to use 4 Wheel Drive System.
3. Drives quieter and handles better on highway, feels a little more stable at high speeds than a G500.
4. Overall appearence and options.
Now time for the new 2002 G-500:
1. Definitely more torque and Horsepower than a Range Rover.
2. Interior Luxury conforts and features
3. GPS COMAND
4. 3 Differential locks for Off-Roading (Never needed it yet)
5. Exclusivity
6. Better Reliability than a Range Rover??? ( I am not sure at this time)
Overall, G500 is a great replacement for my 96 Range Rover and probably for your wife's 99 as well. But if I were to choose between the new 2003 Range Rover and the new 2003 G500, it might be a very tough decision...
fyi - our '99 RR has been 100% reliable, with zero problems and no complaints.
Aside from the superior appointments and capabilities of the G, I think your #5 sums it up perfectly: "Exclusivity"
Whereas the RR appears to be lurking around just about every corner here in NoVa, I always get a charge when I come upon the G500... saw a silver one this a.m. in McLean - it may be another 2 or 3 weeks before I see another one!
BTW - great pic's of your stable! Love the silver.
