Cool G500 first impressions

Took delivery of brilliant silver G500 last night. FIrst impressions: car feels very solid and heavy. The ride quality is pretty good, smother than our old ML 320. Feels like the car has plenty of power, although I have not driven it very fast yet. The Command system is pretty straight forward to use, but probably will have to read the manual to be able to understand and use all the functions.

The 36 month lease had 58% residual (my old E430 had 55% residual) but the money factor was too high (interest rate worked out to 9.5%) so we decided to buy it. Paid MSRP only, they tried to sell extended warranty, but we are planning to keep it for 2 years only

Same story here. Picked up my Brilliant Silver G500 on the evening of the 10th and took it to Lake Tahoe for a break-in drive and skiing trip with some friends. Worth every penny, and got LOTS of attention. Quite a few people stopped me and asked questions about the car, even a group of firemen in San Francisco the first night I had it.
