Exclamation Transfer Case Error Message

Hello,
My 2004 G55 won't start. After attempting to start it, an error message "Transfer Case - Visit Workshop" has appeared in the message screen. I drove it the previous day with no issues. I had not even engaged Low Range. Just normal driving and the display still reads H. There is plenty of battery but the ignition just keeps attempting to start but doesn't fire up. There is no fluid leaking or any other engine problems. It does not even show up as a "malfunction" in the system.

Is there a way to reset the computer module or any other advice? I am 99.9% sure everything is mechanically sound but cannot figure this one out.

Thanks,
Chris.

2002 g400 cdi
i've had the same issues in the past on a 400 2002
my solution was to trick the transfer case

this is how i did it switch back and forth from h to l untill it shows and empty square on the dashboard then start your engine and shift to drive see if it kept engaged in high, if not with the engine running repeat untill the square is empty and the transmission in high

only problem from there on is you will always have to use the parking brake to stop the alarm
