To anybody who owns or has owned a G class. I want to buy one for a family car but i have been told that it is a very uncomfortable car and you will get tired from it easily. I love the car the way it looks but i have never driven it i am wondering if its true or not

thx

G55 is a bit rough, but the G500/550 is pretty comfortable. Why not do a test drive and decide for yourself?

It is a bit rough, yes. Get the G500 shocks or Brabus shocks put on it and it'll be a world of difference. The G is rock solid and nor you or your family will have to worry about any situation while in it.

I would go with the Mercedes Benz G class if money is not an issue plus its a lot better overall on the snow and rain compared to the others, but as stated above this vehicle is just like all of them and you need to know how to drive correctly in the rain and the snow............

I just drove 1800km this weekend in my 1998 G500, without getting even a bit tired. Only negative aspect is wind-noise at speeds above 140km/h, but all you have to do is give throttle and listen to the sonorous exhaust!

It's truly a very unique vehicle; fast, safe, roomy, comfortable, and totally independent of weather and road conditions. Sure it eats gas (around 15l/100km average), but that's a small price to pay for this pleasure.

We bought the first one used as we were not sure that we would like it. The 2004 Range Rover we had sat lonely in the driveway and my wife made it clear that the G was hers. We then decided to buy a new 2008 after 2 years ownership of the first one. I have never bought the same model of car twice.

It does have its quirks. The ride is more "truck-like" and there is some wind noise however the unique style and bullet proof feel is well worth is. Just ask my wife!
