I have a 2005 G55. After the engine warms up a moderate to loud "diesel sounding" noise starts up. It's a tick tick tick noise and seems to come on after it's warmed up and under heavy driving. I've been told it's the lifters? I've also had 2 MBZ techs from 2 different dealers listen to it and both claim it's normal. Engine operates normally and it's a well known and serviced car with only 2 owners. I did have a friend who had a similar issue and he claims the dealership fixed it but each time I've inquired they claim it's not an issue.

Any suggestions or help as I'm new to the board.

Have your friend show you the receipt for the fix, and see what they fixed.

Are you able to pin-point exactly where the sounds is originating from? ie: belts, fan, etc...

It sounds like the problem could be the supercharge pulley.
