HI there I have a 2004 G500 and it's making a power Steering type noise/Whinning but the steering feels fine and the noise doesnt get worse when your turning the steering wheel but the noise gets louder as I accelerate. Could it be tranny maybe?

Have you checked the pulleys and engine belts? The serpentine belt needs to be replaced at the age and there is cheap plastic tensioner that is probably cracked.

When the belt is off, spin all the pulleys and replace those that make noise. Replace the tensioner in any case. The owners manual has a diagram, I think.

Keep the old parts in a box in the car in case you have a breakdown. Better, buy a second new tensioner and trash the old one.

Well it was a very simple fix it was the belt tensioner pulley making all that racket
