My cd changer failed again...
Every two years the trunk cd cassette fails in my 2002 G500. Have no desire to replace it again, silly implementation, what were those engineers thinking?
I understand there is a way to use an iPod , iPad or mp3 player With Comand. Anyone know how? I searched but found nothing.
Could someone explain this to me?

AUX cable installation works well
My tech just installed the AUX cable kit sold off another site. He is very careful and it took him about 2 hours to do the installation. If he did it everyday he said it would take less than that. To drill the adapter hole for the cable into the glove box, one needs an 18.8mm drill bit, not a common item!
No it does not power the ipxd device, one can get that through the adapter that plugs into a 12 volt source. There is a mini stereo cable for the headphone jack. I was impressed with the sound quality from the Cd tracks I stored on my iPad. Turn off the speakers on the device so the sound is routed through the jack.
Remember to match the music volume on the ipxd or IPhone to the radio, etc.
Selecting AUX through SVC when you want to listen is a bit cludgy, at least you can change the the tone and balance or use the rock, classical, etc. Defaults.
Overall very happy with the purchase. Now to get a 4S and clip it on the vent.
