How to remove chrome strips on front grill?
Hello everyone, I wanted to know how you remove the chrome strips/mercedes emblem on the front grill. I am going to be painting those black. Do you need to remove the grill and loosen a screw from the rear? Thanks for the help, and if anyone has instructions on how to remove the grill that would be great also!

On my 02. The Chrome on the grill was just tape. If it's a hot day you should be able to peel it off. If not heat it up some with a hair dryer. Take some liquid tar remover and rag to get the sticky off. As for the grill the head light covers need to come off then there are a couple of screws if I remember correctly that let the grill slide out. The star is held on with like 8 mm bolt. Take take this to heart its been years since I did it.
I also took the trim off the rubber strips down the side.
