Good offroading places in L.A county

Does anyone know any good off-roading places for a 1st timer in L.A county? I want to see what my G-wagen in capable of but i dont know where to go. Also does anyone know if offroading voids your warranty like racing on a racetrack? I dont see why it would but i want to make sure.

State Park?

I believe there's a CA State Park specifically for off roading somewhere in SoCal.

How close is Hollister Hills to where you are? I've heard that it's a great place to play.
