Modifications

Does anyone on the board have any Brabus modifications to their G500s? I was thinking about getting the Brabus exhaust system, with resonator. The price is a little steep, but I would really enjoy a more throaty growl. They have apparently tuned it so that it is like the G500 at low RPMs, but with a deep growl at WOT.

Thoughts?

I was also thinking about the 20" wheels with 295 PZero Scorpion tires. Anyone have any experience with these?

Any other obvious modifications that anyone has has success with?

If you have no plans to go off-road, then the 20" Brabus wheels are probably the best large wheels I've seen for the G-Class. Don't go any bigger than 20", though.

The Brabus exhaust upgrade is pretty good, but it's also expensive as you indicated. On my G500, I just removed the center muffler and ran a totally dual setup similar to the G55. It sounded pretty good and introduced no problems...even gave me a few extra HP. I replaced the two remaining mufflers with some meatier ones.

You won't go wrong with the Brabus setup and they have more than a decade of experience with the G-Class.

no on Brabus exhaust. . .

go with the Kleemann exhaust. The Brabus exhaust actually sucked power out of my G and now, with Kleemann, I actually have twin side exhaust. With the Brabus system, the pipes ran all the way around the back of the truck to come out on the other side. Weird.

Thanks for the opinion.. that sounds very weird. I will definitely check out Kleeman.

Which is exactly the way that the factory stock system is routed on the preMBUSA G's.

Lightbulb Ah. . . interesting.

Anyway, Kleemann cleaned it up a bit and the truck now sounds better, performs better, and looks better.
