It is a very simple job on my 2002 G 500. Probably the same for yours. Open the hood and on the passenger side in front of the fire wall you will see the filter. Two screws release the filter. Remove the filter, replace and screw the cove back on.

I suspect the cabin filter consist of two parts as stated in the original post below.

I found one cabin filter just in front of the firewall, but with 6 screws cap. It is non square shap (A 230 830 04 18).
I believe there is another one which is square shape (4638300018).
Perhaps vrathore can share some of his finding
thanks !

Cabin Filter Replacement Procedure
There is only one cabin filter that I found. There is nothing under the dash in my 2003 G55. The cabin filter is under the hood, passenger side(LHD), just in front of the firewall. Held down by six stainless screws.
However, I had to remove the hood shock, as the cabin filter would not come out all the way without the hood being vertical.
The hood shock has a semi circular holding spring, which just needs to be lifted a little to remove the hood shock, though I removed it completely.
After that it was a simple 5 minute job to swap he filter, re-install the spring onto the hood shock and and snap the hood shock back into place.
Hope the attached is helpful.
Good luck!
