I just purchased by 2010 G-wagen several month ago and am thoroughly enjoying this vehicle. I am considering upgrading the look by replacing my standard 18 inch wheels with AMG wheels. Am considering the 2008 G 55 18 inch five spoke wheels or the 2010 G 55 19 inch five spoke. I'm inclined to do the latter.

Any recommendations on which would be better? I would get new tires to match the wider wheels in both cases. Would any changes be expected in performance and handling? Would the odometer/speedometer impacts be minor and not worth worrying about?

Just put 20" 2013 AMG wheels and tires on my 2002. The overall diameter is very close. I do not really notice any performance or handling. But I do notice they really look cool. You can see a picture on my recent post.

This is what the 2010 G55 AMG Wheels look like on a G500...in the crazy blizzard we just got in the Midwest. They work well in the snow.

The 19" ride is slightly stiffer than the 18" since there is more rubber on the 18"...so you can feel the bumps on the 19" a little bit more. But they look awesome.
