Removing brush guard on 2013 G550
I am thinking of removing the brush guard on my 2013 G550. I understand on the AMG version there is a special part that needs to be placed in the notch in the bumper when the brush guard is removed. Is something similar required on the standard version or does the brush guard just come right off?
Thanks all!

I have a 2013 Brush Guard to install on a 2005 G500. You remove your guard and you buy Black Plugs from an Auto Shop like Pep Boys. I already have similar plugs on my bumper since it was pre-drilled for Euro Plates.

I removed the brush guard from my G550. I just picked up some black nylon plugs from Lowes to fill in the holes. Here's a pic of the my car without the brush guard. You can see the two front plugs, hard to see the two top ones though.

Mind if I ask what tire and size you are running?! I've heard that anything larger than OEM does weird things with the electronics on the new 550's... How does it ride relative to stock now. Sorry for so many questions!

They are BFG All Terrain T/A KOs 275/65-18s 32.1". They didn't seem to affect the ESP/Traction Control system at all. I've never had any issues with drivability with these tires installed. The ride is very similar to stock, but maybe a little bit harsher because of the stiffer sidewalls.

Do you mind if I ask how much your mileage was impacted? I'm trying to decide between the BFG KO 2 or the new Goodyear Adventure with Kevlar.

Snow rating, road noise and mileage are more important to me than mud.
