New Member Intro - G63 Kitted G500

Hello Everyone,

I've always loved the look of the G Wagon / G Class and never thought I'd own one at some point but now I do. About a week ago I purchased a 1999 (X Vin) 2000 model G500 which is a Japan import that I found in Dubai (moved here a long time back but originally from the UK).

It has 94,000 kms on the clock and generally appears to be in very good condition. It has a G63 kit fitted to it which seems to have been rushed a little and I am slowly working on the wrong doings of the previous owner. It's not all bad but the kit was rushed and shows imperfections in fitting straight etc. Anyway all this is a project.

I removed the cheap looking G63 style replica wheels with AMG stickers instead of stamps (I'm in the wheel business) and fitted the ones currently on there. If anything, I might go back to OEM G63 or OEM style but stamped reps that are identical to the OEM rather than cheaper copies.

The interior is in good condition but I have to say the positioning of opening and closing the door isn't ideal - something better in newer models. The Stereo is also a little off and the leather and door panels will get a make over but for now that's me. Looking forward to learning a lot here on these beautiful vehicles.

Until next time, here's some pics,
Sam

Panamera 4S, G550
congrats

It looks great. I love the fact that these cars have not drifted away from the original design too much in past 30+ years. I my self will be getting a delivery of 2013 G550 Friday and I just can't wait to have it in my garage. (Although I got it for my wife) Be safe and enjoy working on the car.

Thank you mcho

Yeah, Absolutely love it. Something just so unique about the G.

2 of my previous project cars below and hoping to make this even more special.
