Help! G500 (2003) won’t start

Help! G500 (2003) won’t start
On Friday, I had to jumpstart my Subaru from my 2003 G500. No problem.
On Saturday, while offroading on my farm, I see a Check Engine light and head back to base.
I look under the hood, to see if maybe during the jump I dislodged something. Foolishly (it seemed) I decided to unhook the under-the-hood battery connections and retighten them.
Disaster. While there is still power to the dash/instrument cluster/radio, the engine won’t turn over. I tried to jump the G500—nothing. It does not click when I turn the key, I just get sort of a hum.
Also, there is an alert on the dash when I turn the key that does not show up in the manual—two red car silhouettes overlapping.
One more problem/clue: the car can't be shifted into neutral except with inserting a pen into the slot.
Before I get this towed to my mechanic on Tuesday (it being Memorial Day weekend), any last suggestions? Fuses to check?

Hello great to find people with the same vehicke as mine , i drive an 2003 g55 and have exactly the same problems that you have , and the same lights come on the dashboardwhen i turn the key , can you tell ke what did you do to correct the problem ,,,, thanks in advance
