Anyone with Supercharged G500?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone out there has a 2002 and up Supercharged G500.
I know there are G55K out there but i need info on a 500.
I am contemplating about getting a G class as a third car for my wife and i, simply because i always wanted one and want to know should i start playing with it, what is possible. Will the transmission be able to handle the increased torque should i go beyond ECU and exhaust and supercharge it?
Thanks much.

thank you, ive seen those but they really don't tell me what i would like to know. i know there are companies that can slap a supercharger on anything but will the drive train hold the power reliably is my question.
I've seen posts with 2003 N/A G55 supercharged but i don't know if the trans is any different from 500.

I've only had my G since October so I'm no Vet. I've also wonder about adding a SC, but decided to save my money for a G55/G63. As I like my G500 as-is without any real engine mods.

During my research I came across various info. What's not clear, just assumed, was the first G55 that much different than the G500?

Info from another site (Not from my research)...
2002:
G500-5.0L, 292HP/336T 5speed Trans

2003:
G500-same
G55-5.5L, 349HP/387T 5 speed trans

2004:
G500-same
G55-same

2005:
G500-same
G55-5.5L, 469HP/516T (engine now supercharged kompressor- 5 speed trans ), upgraded brakes, new suspension

Anyone with Supercharged G500?

G500 from 2002-2003 uses same 5 speed 722xxx tranny as all the g55 models. The tranny can handle plenty of power which is why mb didn't switch to the 7 speed version in the g55 models even if the 7speed transmission was already available on the non amg models from I believe 2007 or 2008.

As for supercharging a g500, exactly the same supercharger kit is used by Kleemann for a 2003-2004 g55 as the g500 from the same years. Only difference is the size of the pulley used. 3.0inch for g500 vs 2.8 inch for the g55. The g55's m113 5.4l motor can take higher boost pressure than the g500's m113 E50 5.0L motor due to a lower compression (10:1 vs 10.5:1 i believe).

I hope this helps in your decision making. I believe there are a few brands of supercharger kits out there but am sure they follow pretty much the same logic as the Kleemann sc i am using.

Yes that helps allot. thank you very much. As its our third car, i will go the cheaper route with a 500. Should we want to put more money towards performance its good to know we have that option.
Thank you very much.
