Hi all,
I'm installing 30mm H&R spacers (part # 6095840) on my G63. Does anyone have experience doing this and can recommend the right bolt size to use (and the brand/vendor) to attach the OEM wheels to the spacer since the original OEM wheel bolts are too long?
H&R seems to suggest their own 14x1.5x43mm bolts (part #1454302) but was wondering if anyone had actually tried this with success.
The right bolt size to use would be whatever your original bolt length is plus 30mm. You should always compensate for whatever the size of the spacer that you are using.
Hey Hsuinda I'm having the same issue. The bolts supplied for the spacer fit perfectly on the hub. But the OEM bolts that go with the wheel is about 5-10mm too long.
Let me know if you find some OEM quality bolts that are shorter that will make this work.

Just spoke w h&r and was told that the bolt they recommended (#1454302) is the right bolt to use. So just ordered a bunch and will install this weekend. Will let you know the result. Stay tuned.
The Lug Bolts for the Mercedes G-wagen Alloys wheels are M14 x 1.5mm x 45mm with the ball seat.
The 30mm spacers are bolted first to the axle hubs with different bolts, then the wheel is fastened to the spacer, and the original lug bolts should fit.
Please check the length, the 45mm are measured from the bottom of the ball seat.
If the bolts are longer, they will go through the spacer and bottom out against the hub.
The German TUV requires the lug bolts be screwed in 7 turns, to be accepted/approved.......
So the factory wheel bolts are too long for use with the spacers? About to buy 31mm spacers to go with factory 20” AMG’s and hadn't thought about the original bolts being too long until reading this
I just installed the H&R 31mm spacers and the factory bolts worked just fine. I measured things before I put the spacers on and there is just enough clearance. It's a nice, but subtle improvement, but it will required some future work - take them off before a visit to the dealer and take them off for our annual inspection.
Looks good. Just curious, why do you need to remove spacers before you go to the dealer or for the state inspection? I'm in the same state and have had many cars with spacers and other modifications and never ran into any problems.

You probably do not for an inspection but at the dealer it may be a different story if they want to get picky.
The spacers place the tread of the tire outside of the fender lip which is technically an inspectional violation in Mass. Some inspection stations may not notice, but with the new photo requirement of everything it will be hard for them to give you a pass. As for the dealer, the spacers could be seen as voiding the warranty on the axles/bearing since there is an increase the moment arm, and therefore load on the bearings. They probably won't notice for most things, but if there is a drive line issue I wouldn't want to temp fate.

Anyone know how far the factory 45mm long bolt sticks through a genuine Mercedes wheel (or do the wheels vary). TUV 7 turns is around 12mm on these I think, so can a shorter bolt be used or will that mean less than 12mm sticking through to screw in?
I ask because Im considering a GLS63 22” wheel and tyre combo on my G63 and the adapters are 25mm thick which based on the info here would mean factory 45mm bolts will bottom out. The manufacturer can do a 31mm thick adapter but it pushes the wheels out to their limit or maybe past it.
Im going satin black wheels so will buy new bolts from H&R so can I go shorter or best stay 45mm long and get the thicker adapters?
