ESP Inop
Need some help...about 3 days ago my G55 AMG began giving me a signal that ESP was inop, check operators manual. Also the "Brake" light would come on. The car still ran but had zero kick. Normally it comes on when you place a high demand on acceleration. I just popped the hood and found that the belt for the turbo had jumped off. Under further investigation, I found a squirrel dead under the engine. My initial impression is that the squirrel got caught between the belt and the pulley, got smashed but made the belt jump. My question is; can having that belt off make the ESP Inop warning come on due to the car sensing lack of power because there is no belt to the turbo? Don't want to drop off at the dealer until I have a good idea of what is wrong, otherwise they go on a wild goose chase and charge me an arm and a leg for it. Appreciate the help!
