G500 02' 03' owners question

I have a 02manufacture 03 model year G500. I am the original owner and have been VERY lucky with the POS electronics build for that year....VERY lucky! Recently i (shiver) took it to the local dealer to fix the only real problem i constantly have...the seat adjuster on the passenger side. When they returned it the seat head rest now telescopes every time you move the seat backwards or forward....for 13 years it has never done that...but the dealer says " no that is normal per MB". Please ONLY if you have or have access to an 03 G500....confirm or rebuke what MB dealership is saying......Thanks in advance
