Buying a 2013 G63
Hi guys
I am looking at a 2013 G63 with only 13000 mils on it and mint condition.
However the car had a rear ended accident. It cost 10000 to repair it. The warrantee expires in 6 month. I am in Canada we can not purchase the extended warrantee from MB.
My question is
Is the $10000 repair on the rear a big repair or like the seller claimed just some paint job?
After 6 month this car will be without warrantee. How much should I budget for maintenance per year ?
Any advice will be helpful.
Thanks all.

How can anyone know if the $10000 repair was just a paint job repair or not? The question is unanswerable without other info. If the car was repaired at a MB authorized facility, it could be. MB repair guys change unnecessary parts, buy OEM parts and charge a premium on everything. So, sometimes a repair from a MB authorized repair facility can be twice that of an independent repair guy.
I wouldn't just say to keep looking. This could be a great deal depending on what was repaired and where it was repaired. Could simply be parts replaced and painted. Have you ran the VIN through carfax?
Your best bet is to look at the history of the car and get detailed info on what was repaired. A $10000 repair on a car worth $150,000 or thereabouts is not crazy high. get details on what was repaired. A simple fender bender on that car can cost that much to repair. And as such result in a lower price which in turn is a good deal for anyone that isn't scared of cars with fender bender history.
Also, get an aftermarket warranty to cover you after the OEM warranty expires and you will be good to go.
