Hello everyone!! Im about to get my first G wagon tomorrow, 2017 G550 white with black wheels. Im thinking about upgrading the original sound system by adding a better amplifier and speakers. Has anyone here done it ?
I have a 2016 and soon as I got it I sent it to my audio guy...He installed a high end amp and sub. Everything is was kept stock, just wanted some bass fill. We adjusted the stock EQ the best it let me, and it sounded amazing. Night and day difference. I was planning on putting on door front and rear speakers, but I see no need anymore for this truck.
^^^Haha. Its a Digital Designs Sub and for the life of me I cant remember the AMP. Here are the only 2 pics I have on my laptop right now. Sorry its not better pics. The picture where there is no sub, there is a battle belt sitting under the case, the Sub sits right there. There is a quick disconnect installed so I can take it out if I need that extra space...

Thanks, also on the note of usability, 95% of the time there is a 2 piece floor made of 3/4'' MDF covering the stereo, they have built in metal grills and then the whole piece is wrapped in carpet. So I still have a totally usable trunk. Honestly it is more usable than stock because the floor is now wider as the stereo only goes up to the wheel arches. I have put 300+ lbs of stuff back there with no issue. All 4 factory wheels and tires shown below
