Installing an iPad in a 2005 G500
Just bought a 2005 G500... Thinking of installing an iPad. The obvious method seems to be to get somebody to pull out the old obseolete module and pop a dash install-ready ipad mount in there, and wire it up.
Anybody done this? Any issues? How big an ipad fits in there, mini, or full-size? Is it possible to wire things so that the steering wheel volume buttons work? What did it cost you?

here's one done by Rafa using Soundman ipad dash kits.
why not just replace the old Command system with the new Android Auto/Car Play compatible units from Pioneer/Sony/others.
That way, you can also add a back-up camera.

Just install a touchscreen pioneer stereo. Much better sound output, integrate steering wheel controls and back up camera. I used an avic 150 but there are newer things now.

Alternatively, you can just install an android powered headunit made specifically for the w463. Go on eBay.. That's the best and most straight forward, fully functional, plug and play solution.
iPads are too messy, too much wire modifications, power routing, speakers, and reverse camera????
Stick with the android.
