02 Condenser-OEM or Aftermarket?

In my drive from FL to TX, I took a rock to my condenser and as a result need to replace it in my 02 G500.

OEM straight from the dealer is roughly $1k, from mbpartsonline is roughly $800.

Aftermarket from UAC or APDI, both American distributors of likely Chinese OEM fit parts, are $75-100. Labor is $400 either way, mechanic won't warranty the work on the aftermarket, but if I buy OEM he will. Aftermarket has parts warranty, but doesn't help on the labor.

Besides the standard business case, I am curious if anyone has any experience with aftermarket condensers, on this truck, or any MB? Thanks!

it is, but I want to weigh my options before I consider the $500 deductible and potential premium increase risk (fuzzy subject, I know, but this would be my 4th claim in 3 years, 2 non-fault accidents and 1 non-fault comp windshield claim). I've had a string of bad luck haha

double check your policy, sometimes you have a different comprehensive deductible

our 'normal' deductible is $500 if we are at fault, but our comprehensive deductible is $100 (pay it everytime we get a windshield replaced due to a rock)
