Extended warranty

I just purchased the 2017 G550. The dealership recommended the extended warranty and prepaid maintenance. I am not going to drive more than 5000 miles per year. In addition, I was told that the G wagon is pretty reliable. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Purchase the extended warranty when the current warranty on the vehicle is about to expire. You can purchase the extended warranty within 4 years or 50,000 miles. This was provided by my local dealership upon purchasing my 2015 G550. Please confirm this information with your dealership as well.
All new Mercedes Benz vehicles come with a warranty of 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Therefore, you should not rush to purchase the extended warranty. You never know, you might want to sell it or trade it in before the current warranty expires.
Also, do not purchase prepaid maintenance.
