Looking to purchase 2005 G55
Hello MB world. Im looking to jump into the world of g wagons. Ive found what looks to be a nice 2005 G55 kompressor at a dealer in Oregon. It is a 2005 G55 AMG with 92000 miles on it. It has a OME 50mm lift with brand new rims and nit tires on it. it is a 3 owner G55. It looks super clean with a couple of minor chips and light scratches. They're asking 54,000 for it. I was wanting to get your guys input about the price range on it and the milage. I am completely new to these vehicle. Ive researched that 2005+ G55s were the better ones. This one is also a Kompresser. They said that it recently had work done at a Mercedes Benz dealer. What are things I should look for that have been replaced or need replacing? Thank you guys very much and I'm looking forward to finally getting a G.

Get a pre purchase inspection
Otherwise I look out for rust around:
I think it's a bit expensive for an 05 with that many miles but if it has been that well maintained (pre purchase inspection should unveil that), then perhaps it's OK. I also personally don't put much premium on the AMG models so I'll let others chime in!
For whatever it's worth, I just saw a super clean G500 in the Bay Area with 82K mi, 2005 MY for $43k. One of the nicest G's I've driven (I've looked at many including newer ones) - here it is if you're interested: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ingId=46961363
Otherwise I look out for rust around:
- The D pillars
- Under the side mirror posts
- Around the brush guard mount (if it still has a brush guard)
- Around the window glass - there's a black piece of metal not sure it's called
- Under the car, generally look for rust in the chassis and drivetrain bits

I have done so much to this truck already and it was worth every penny. The interchangeability is incredible.
