You will need to buy the drag link and the tie rod from an MB dealer, The ball joints are not sold as a separate item.

Thank you Dutch.
My G is one of the early 290 models, many of the parts were sourced by Daimler Styre Puch as this was initially a Styre assembly. Have asked MB for parts with no luck let alone a response. I need many parts to bring it back to new.
However the ball joints are 24mm thread and 18mm taper start. The Isuzu ball joints are the same taper and come with 20mm thread and the early Isuzu with 24mm thread. Have 2 joints in local markets here.
Very few manufacturers make a complete vehicle. Therefore many parts fit many different cars. My 220S clutch cylinder is the same as a Daimler same as a BMC product.
The idea is to locate original supplier of parts to vehicle assembly plant, especially on those vehicle assembly plants that have low quantity runs such as Gratz, Austria with the early G wagon.
Designers such as Paul Braq have been instrumental in utilizing designs with parts from many primary sources.

Would be real nice if there was, besides olds like myself who keep in memory, a cross reference for original manufacturer parts that go into assembly of MB vehicles.

Thank you for your help.
A great day does not compare with a day of learning.

.
Actually, it was Steyr-Daimler-Puch, now known as MagnaSteyr; and it still is the assembly plant for the G-Class in Graz, Austria.

Not sure where you're located, but any MB dealer can get any part for the G, if the part is still available. Sadly, too many of those MB dealers don't want to bother with getting them.
